BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Sabah on Wednesday to discuss bilateral security cooperation. The talks covered strengthening joint security work between Baghdad and Kuwait, border security, and intelligence sharing to address regional threats.
According to Iraqi Foreign Ministry sources, the two sides also reviewed the management of border crossings and efforts to combat smuggling. Both officials stressed the need for closer coordination and expanded intelligence exchange.
The ministry said the two countries agreed to continue joint security efforts and to convene technical teams in the coming period to follow up on outstanding issues. No further details were immediately available on the timing of the next technical meetings.
The meeting took place as part of ongoing diplomatic engagement between Baghdad and Kuwait.
