BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraqโs National Security Adviser Qasim al-Araji said on Monday that there is broad agreement to resolve outstanding disputes between the federal government and the Kurdistan Region administration. He made the remarks in a joint statement in Baghdad with Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani.
Al-Araji said the two sides discussed security problems and unresolved issues. He added that a joint senior security delegation from Erbil and Baghdad will travel to Tehran and work under the Iraq-Iran Higher Security Committee, which was set up earlier.
The delegation will discuss attacks that targeted Iraq and the Kurdistan Region during military clashes in the area, along with other topics involving both sides. Masrour Barzani said al-Araji rejected those attacks as being aimed not only at the Kurdistan Region but at all parts of Iraq.
