Iran Says US Modifications to Draft Agreement Text Are Unacceptable

The official said violations of the ceasefire could affect ongoing negotiations, and that Iran would not compromise on its position. The release of frozen funds and the removal of sanctions were stated as prerequisites for any agreement, the official added. The official emphasized that regional stability and security could only be achieved through a credible deterrence mechanism against attacks. The statements came amid a period of heightened tensions between Israel and Iran, during which the two sides carried out mutual military operations. Tehran has conducted operations targeting Israel's north.
