TEHRAN, Iran — TEHRAN — Iran's military said on Thursday that it targeted US bases in Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates with missiles and drones, announcing the strikes as the 31st stage of an operation it calls "Saika." The army's public relations unit, part of the General Staff, said the attacks hit satellite communications systems, equipment depots and fighter jet hangars at Kuwait's Ahmed al-Jabir base, claiming damage and losses. In a separate statement, Iran said it also struck US force positions and radar systems at the UAE's al-Minhed base with missiles and drones. The army said the Ahmed al-Jabir base plays a critical role in US preparations and air operations in West Asia. Iran's General Staff warned that any potential US attack would draw a "decisive" response, adding that operations would continue "until final victory and the defeat of the aggressor." Kuwait's General Staff earlier announced that its air defense systems had intercepted what it described as an "Iranian attack" involving missiles and drones, with sirens sounding in the area. The Iranian army had previously said it had deployed ground forces to border regions, stating the troops were prepared for potential threats. No immediate comment from US officials was included in the statement.
