Iran's Armed Forces spokesman Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi said a data center belonging to "the enemy" in the United Arab Emirates was hit by Iranian strikes in the latest wave of fighting. Speaking to Iran's official IRNA news agency, Shekarchi claimed the facility had been built over 20 years with the help and investment of European countries, Israel and the United States. He said the target was selected because, in his account, it was set up to "control the region." The UAE, alongside other Gulf states, reported last week that it had been targeted by Iranian-origin attacks. The UAE Ministry of Defense said its forces had responded to incoming missiles and drones from Iran, adding that air defense systems had intercepted ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. No immediate confirmation of damage to the data center was available from Emirati authorities.
