WASHINGTON, United States โ€” Iran's Foreign Ministry said Saturday that an Iranian delegation will travel to Switzerland to monitor implementation of US commitments under a memorandum of understanding, with the ministry describing the deal's first article as its most important provision. According to the ministry, the other side has violated its obligation to force Israel to stop attacks on Lebanon. Iran called on Washington to accelerate implementation of the memorandum. "We did not sign so the memorandum would not be implemented; our approach is commitment for commitment," the statement said. The ministry said provisions on lifting the maritime blockade have been applied and that the Strait of Hormuz has been opened in line with the memorandum. It stressed that the agreement must be treated as a whole, warning that failure to implement certain articles would create problems. Separately, US Vice President JD Vance told Fox News there is no evidence Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz, adding that Washington would give negotiations with Iran a chance and expressed confidence in maintaining the ceasefire.
