Iran's Pezeshkian calls current period the most suitable time for an agreement

TEHRAN, Iran — TEHRAN — Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Monday that present conditions represent the most suitable time to reach an agreement through negotiations and to resolve outstanding issues. Speaking in remarks carried by Iranian media, he said Iran currently enjoys cohesion, strength and unity, and that his government is working to prevent additional pressure on the Iranian people. Pezeshkian stressed that the other side must recognize and safeguard Iran's rights, adding that Tehran seeks nothing beyond the rights of its country and people. He said difficulties persist across all sectors and that problems cannot be resolved through war alone. The president said Iran intends to continue the peace process on the basis of the articles of the memorandum of understanding. He added that Tehran will move forward in talks only as far as the other side progresses, and will not accept demands if no progress is recorded.
