Iran's parliament speaker tells Baghdad Iraqi resistance has become a regional, global force

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said during a joint press conference in Baghdad that Iraq's resistance has become a central element of national strength. Speaking alongside Iraqi Parliament First Deputy Speaker Adnan al-Fanhan, Ghalibaf said relations between the two countries are moving toward a new regional order free from foreign interference. Ghalibaf said the Iraqi resistance experience, witnessed during Iran's Ramadan War, had over the years expanded beyond the two countries' borders into a force with regional and global influence. He described his visit to the Iraqi capital as part of efforts to build the new regional order and strengthen bilateral cooperation with all regional states. The Iranian parliament speaker called on Islamic countries to deepen cooperation across all fields, starting with the economy, and said Tehran stood ready to engage at the highest level. He described ties between the two neighboring peoples as historic and inseparable.
