TEHRAN, Iran — TEHRAN — Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Tuesday that security in the Gulf region must be built on a collective framework, according to Iranian state television. Addressing mediators, Araghchi said Iran has been seeking a complete end to the war rather than a temporary ceasefire.
Araghchi stressed that Gulf security is only possible through a collective security arrangement that also covers economic dimensions. He noted that Qatar, alongside Pakistan, has played a significant mediating role and that bilateral ties with Tehran are at a strong stage.
On the same day, U.S. President Donald Trump said no negotiations or talks with Iran are currently planned and that the naval blockade remains in effect.
