Iran's Araghchi accuses US officials of manipulating energy markets for personal gain

In a post on X, Araghchi said U.S. intelligence information and assessments show Washington is exerting intense effort to control energy markets and steer prices. He alleged that certain elements within the U.S. administration were using what he described as "naive" media outlets to influence prices and serve their own interests. Araghchi claimed the aim was to keep U.S. President Donald Trump "a prisoner in a lost war," without elaborating on which conflict he was referring to. He added that American consumers were the first victims paying the price of the arrangement. No immediate response from U.S. officials was reported.
