Iran releases first footage from Khamenei’s office after leader’s death

Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, has published images it says are the first taken from inside Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s office, recorded after US and Israeli strikes on Iran. The agency said on X that the footage was filmed after the attacks that killed Khamenei, who died on the first day of the US-Israeli war against Iran. According to Tasnim, that war began on 28 February. Iran is holding a funeral for the late Supreme Leader, with his coffin and those of family members killed alongside him placed at the musalla from Friday. The first day of the ceremony was reserved for official delegations to pay their final respects, and members of the public were invited to attend on Saturday to say goodbye to the caskets. Tasnim did not specify when the footage was recorded beyond the period after the strikes. No further details on the timing or official succession arrangements were immediately available.
