A hacker group identifying itself as Hanzala has issued a new warning to the US military, urging US Marines to call their families and say goodbye. The group said missiles are ready to launch and indicated it is waiting for any possible US misstep, adding that an attack in the coming hours would be harsh.
The threat came shortly after US President Donald Trump said Iran was dragging out nuclear deal talks and would "pay the price" for doing so. Asked by reporters what the price would be, Trump said: "We will hit them, and hit them hard. We will continue the bombardment. We hit them hard yesterday, and we will hit them again today."
In the same remarks, Trump said he wanted a successful deal and that the two sides were close to an agreement. The status of any retaliatory cyber or military action by Hanzala was not immediately clear, and no official Iranian response to the group's statement was reported.
The Hanzala group, which has previously claimed cyber operations against Israeli and US targets, has not been formally linked to the Iranian state in the available reporting.
