Iran keeps schools closed as wartime classes continue online

TEHRAN, Iran — Schools in Iran have remained closed and classes have continued online for three months after the war with the United States and Israel. Even after the declared ceasefire, educational institutions have not reopened. Sarah, who takes online lessons every day with her 7-year-old son, said she has had to balance homework supervision with daily household tasks. She said the arrangement has been especially difficult for first-grade students. Sarah said children need the school environment and social interaction. Education Minister Ali Reza Kazemi said at least 20 schools were completely destroyed in the fighting and 279 students were killed.
