TEHRAN, Iran โ€” Iran's official news agency IRNA on Wednesday denied reports that the country's negotiating team had cancelled its trip to Switzerland for talks with the United States, saying the program remained unchanged. A source told the agency that decision-makers were still reviewing how to give a memorandum of understanding official status, and that no changes had been made to the Swiss leg of the negotiations. The denial came after Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced overnight that the United States and Iran had agreed on a "peace agreement" to immediately end military operations across the Middle East, including in Lebanon, and that a signing ceremony would be held in Geneva on June 19. Switzerland's foreign ministry said on Wednesday that it had been in close contact with the United States, Iran, Pakistan and Qatar for several days, working to facilitate a meeting to discuss the possible signing of a U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding and to arrange travel for the delegations to Switzerland.
