TEHRAN, Iran โ Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Bagayi responded on June 3, 2026, to statements issued by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) regarding Iran's regional activities. Bagayi stated that Iran prioritizes regional collective security more than any other party and argued that the GCC's reliance on the United States for solutions deviates from the primary objective.
Bagayi questioned why neighboring countries participate in aggression against Iran or allow their territories to be used for such purposes. He further questioned the silence regarding Israel's occupation and repeated attacks in Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria.
The GCC had issued a statement on June 3, 2026, condemning Iranian aggression toward Bahrain and Kuwait. On the same date, Kuwait reported that an Iranian attack involving ballistic missiles and drones targeted Kuwait International Airport. The attack resulted in one death, numerous injuries, and material damage to diplomatic missions and key facilities.
