TEHRAN, Iran โ The International Atomic Energy Agency informed member countries that it has identified unreported nuclear material and activities in Iran. For nearly a year, the IAEA has been unable to verify the quantities of uranium reserves that Tehran previously declared, according to Reuters.
The agency called on Iran to fully implement its safeguards agreement under the nuclear non-proliferation treaty. Iran has not provided the information the IAEA requested.
The IAEA has not been able to conduct verification visits at nuclear facilities in Iran, with access limited only to the Bushehr power plant. Two agency reports noted that as of June 13, Iran's enriched uranium stocks remained unchanged from previous assessments. The agency emphasized that verification activities must proceed without further delay.
No further details were immediately available.
