Supreme Islamic Council Chairman Sheikh Humam Hamudi said all national forces bear responsibility for preserving Iraq’s stability, underscoring the need for broad cooperation to strengthen the political process and confront the country’s challenges. He made the remarks during a meeting with Ulaym Neceyfi that reviewed the latest developments on Iraq’s political agenda and expectations for the coming period.
The two sides stressed the importance of cooperation among all forces to reinforce the stability of the political process and help the country overcome the difficulties it faces. They also said political balances must be maintained to ensure everyone has a role in decision-making.
Hamudi and Neceyfi said constitutional obligations must be completed, with the establishment of the Federal Council described as a priority. The body would serve as a second legislative chamber.
