Fire extinguished at Hashd al-Shaabi headquarters south of Baghdad

BAGHDAD, Iraq — A fire broke out inside a Hashd al-Shaabi military headquarters in the Bueyse area of Baghdad's southern Devle district and was extinguished by Civil Defense teams, officials said. The blaze ignited simultaneously in five caravans belonging to the 56th Brigade, and crews reached the site quickly to prevent the flames from spreading to other parts of the compound. Civil Defense teams carried out cooling work on the caravans after the fire was brought under control. No casualties or injuries were reported, with damage limited to property. Initial findings point to an electrical short circuit as the cause, according to officials. They said the final cause will be determined by a forensic report being prepared by forensic medicine experts.
