BAGHDAD, Iraq โ A fire broke out on the fourth floor of a four-story office building on Palestine Street in Baghdad, prompting a response from Iraq's Civil Defense teams. The blaze spread to the roof before crews brought it under control and began cooling operations, according to officials.
Authorities said two generators and a 5,000-liter diesel storage tank caught fire in the building. Six people were rescued, including four Iraqis and two foreign nationals, with no casualties reported.
A security source said a preliminary assessment by an evidence specialist indicated that a fault in an electrical panel caused the fire to spread. Civil Defense teams have since contained the flames, and no further details were immediately available.
