BAGHDAD, Iraq โ A fire that broke out at a carpentry workshop in the Al-Alawi district in central Baghdad was extinguished, the city's Civil Defense Directorate said. The response was carried out under the direct field supervision of Civil Defense Director General Major General Muhsin Kadim Alak, with eight specialized firefighting teams and supporting units deployed to the scene.
Firefighters prevented the flames from spreading to surrounding buildings and brought the fire under control. The directorate reported no casualties or injuries, saying the damage was limited to material losses.
The Civil Defense Directorate stated that the rapid and professional response prevented the fire from expanding further. No further details were immediately available.
