SALADIN, Iraq โ FIFA announced that the winner of the 2026 World Cup will receive $50 million, the largest prize in the tournament's history. The increase of $8 million compared to the $42 million awarded to Argentina when they won the 2022 tournament in Qatar.
The expanded 48-team tournament, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, will feature 104 matches. Runner-up teams will earn $33 million, third place $29 million, and fourth place $27 million. Teams eliminated in the round of 16 receive $15 million, those eliminated in the group stage earn $9 million.
In addition to prize money, each national team will collect a $10 million participation fee and $2.5 million in preparation support, bringing the minimum guarantee for any participating team to $12.5 million. FIFA's total prize pool for the tournament reaches $871 million. The organization projects the event will generate more than $13 billion in revenue.
