ILAM, Iran โ Exports to Iraq through the Mehran border crossing increased by 17% during the first quarter of the year, reaching 609,000 tons, according to Sohrab Kemeri, the customs director of Ilam province.
The exports generated approximately $214.7 million in revenue. Shipped goods included agricultural products, construction materials, ceramics, glass, iron ore, clinker, and plastic pipes.
Transit cargo passing through the crossing rose 54% compared to the same period last year, totaling 31,967 tons. The number of transit trucks increased by 476% to 5,991.
Direct revenues for the Ilam provincial customs office grew by 80% to 485 billion Iranian riyals. During this period, officials processed 2,376 export declarations and seized 18 smuggling cases.
