Drowning Incidents Claim Two Lives in Sinjar and Zakho

Two separate drowning incidents in the Sinjar and Zakho districts have resulted in the deaths of two individuals. Local authorities confirmed the fatalities following recovery operations conducted by civil defense teams. In the village of Simra, located within the Zakho autonomous administration, 18-year-old Ahmed Hassan drowned while visiting the area with his family. His body was recovered by civil defense divers and transferred to the Zakho Forensic Medicine Department for legal processing. Officials noted that the incident in Simra marks the eighth drowning case recorded within the Zakho autonomous administration’s jurisdiction this year. Separately, a child drowned in the Hane Sur complex, situated north of the Sinjar district. The victim's remains have been transported to the Mosul Forensic Medicine Department for further procedures.
