Drones strike two Iranian Kurdish party sites north of Erbil

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Drones attacked two sites belonging to Iranian Kurdish opposition parties in the Balaca and Halifan areas north of Erbil late on Monday, according to a party official. Karim Bruzi, an official with the Iranian Kurdistan Democratic Party, said one drone struck the Jiznikan camp in the Balaca area and fell on a building inside the compound, causing no reported casualties or material damage based on initial information. Amjad Hussein, a Political Bureau member of the Iranian Kurdistan Kadhi Party, said two drones struck the party's center in Alana Valley in the Halifan area, causing material damage but no casualties. A local source reported that explosions were heard in succession in Erbil after midnight and that Coalition warplanes responded to the drones. Attacks using drones and missiles against the bases and camps of Iranian Kurdish opposition parties in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah have increased since mid-July, according to the report. It added that nine Komala members were killed on July 17 at a camp near Sulaymaniyah.
