KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait โ Kuwait's Defense Ministry said three land border centers in the country's north were targeted by drone strikes on Tuesday, causing material damage. Ministry spokesman Brigadier General Saud Abdulaziz Al-Atwan said one of the marine drilling platforms of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, located in Kuwaiti territorial waters, was also struck by an unmanned aerial vehicle.
The spokesman said one platform worker was injured in the attack and was receiving necessary medical care. He added that the relevant authorities were responding to the incident in coordination with the relevant agencies.
According to the statement, the Kuwait Armed Forces maintained their state of readiness, and the necessary measures were taken to safeguard the country's security and territorial integrity. The ministry did not provide details on the source of the attack or who was responsible.
Kuwaiti authorities announced that an investigation into the attack on border security and energy infrastructure is ongoing.
