BAGHDAD, Iraq โ€” The U.S. dollar traded lower against the Iraqi dinar in Baghdad on Tuesday morning, while moving higher in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Regional Government. A correspondent in Baghdad reported the dollar was priced at 153,850 dinar per 100 dollars at the city's Kifach and Harthiya stock exchanges, down from 154,000 dinar the previous day. At local currency exchange offices in Baghdad, the selling price stood at 154,250 dinar per 100 dollars and the buying price at 153,250 dinar. The move marked a continued split between official exchange rates and street prices in the capital. In Erbil, the dollar moved in the opposite direction, with the selling price recorded at 154,250 dinar per 100 dollars and the buying price at 154,150 dinar. The divergence between the two cities underlined persistent inter-city price differences across Iraq's foreign exchange market. No official statement was issued by Iraqi authorities regarding the movements.
