Dhi Qar Provincial Council Seeks Investigation into Council Chairman

A group of members of the Dhi Qar Provincial Council has called for a formal investigation into Council Chairman Izza en-Naşi over allegations of financial and administrative irregularities. The council members have initiated proceedings to remove en-Naşi from his position, citing specific violations committed during his tenure as chairman. Reports indicate that en-Naşi may request sick leave to avoid the investigation process. If the removal process is completed, Vice Chairman Muhammed Hadi is expected to be elected as his successor. En-Naşi was elected to the chairmanship in August last year with a simple majority vote.
