MUNICH, Germany โ Bayern Munich has opened talks with England captain Harry Kane over a contract extension that would keep the striker at the club beyond 2027, the 33-year-old said at a media day in Munich.
Kane said negotiations were put on hold while he was on leave after the World Cup and are set to begin this week or next. He added that with less than a year remaining on his deal, sitting down with the club had become important.
Bayern had previously stated on several occasions its intention to extend the former Tottenham forward's contract, and at the end of the 2024-25 season the club described him as the greatest transfer in its history.
Since joining Bayern on a four-year contract in 2023, Kane has won two Bundesliga titles and one DFB-Pokal, and has reached the Champions League semifinals in two of the last three seasons.
