Basra Health Directorate denies dismissal of its director general

BASRA, Iraq — The Basra Health Directorate denied social media reports that its Director General, Dr. Abbas Half al-Tamimi, had been removed from his post, saying the claims do not reflect reality. In a written statement, the directorate said the allegations are not based on any definitive or currently enforced decision by an official authority. The statement added that Dr. Tamimi continues to carry out his administrative and oversight duties as usual, and is following the daily operations of health facilities in the province. The directorate urged the public to rely on official sources for accurate information, and called on media outlets and social media users to obtain, verify and confirm their information from official bodies before publication.
