BASRA, Iraq โ Basra Governor Asaad al-Idani visited Fav district on July 13, 2026, to offer condolences to the family of fisherman Najm al-Tamimi, who was killed when Kuwaiti coast guard forces opened fire on his vessel. Following the visit, al-Idani said the death certificate had been recorded as caused by "firearm injury" in order to safeguard the family's legal rights. He added that no party would be allowed to exploit the incident for personal interests.
