Baghdad Residents Observe Eid al-Adha Traditions

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Hundreds of residents gathered at the Sheikh Abdul Qadir al-Kilani Mosque on the first day of Eid al-Adha to perform morning prayers. Following the service, crowds moved to local businesses across the city, particularly in the Karkh district, to participate in the traditional breakfast of kahi and qimar. Families and worshippers waited in lines to purchase the local delicacies. The high demand for these traditional foods reflects the continued observance of long-standing cultural customs among Baghdad residents during religious holidays.
