Baghdad Provincial Council to regulate construction on agricultural land

BAGHDAD, Iraq — The Baghdad Provincial Council has taken up the file of regulating construction on agricultural lands in the capital, council head Ammar al-Hamadani said, adding that work on the issue is ongoing. He announced that a new mechanism will be established to control the entry of construction materials into farmland. Hamadani said the planned regulation is intended to resolve overlapping administrative authority among the relevant bodies. The measures are designed to limit direct contact between security forces and administrative units and to clarify jurisdictional boundaries, he said.
