Apple may raise iPhone 18 Pro price as memory costs climb

Apple is preparing to launch the iPhone 18 Pro and a foldable iPhone Ultra in the fall of 2026, with the base iPhone 18 model reportedly pushed to early 2027, according to industry reports. The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to start at $1,199, positioning it as the most affordable entry point in Apple's next-generation lineup once the standard model is delayed. A foldable Ultra device could carry a price above $2,000, the reports said. Rising memory prices are a key driver of the higher costs. TrendForce estimates that the component cost of a 256 GB iPhone 18 Pro could be roughly 38% higher than the previous generation, with memory projected to account for more than 40% of total component costs next year. Expected upgrades in the iPhone 18 Pro include a 2-nanometer processor, a smaller Dynamic Island, a variable-aperture camera and improved satellite connectivity. Further pricing and launch details have not been officially confirmed by Apple.
