Apple Announces 'Trust Insights' Fraud Protection for iOS 27

Apple has introduced a new security feature called “Trust Insights” for the iOS 27 operating system, announced during the WWDC 2026 Developers Conference. The system is designed to detect and warn users of potential fraud in real-time across phone calls, text messages, and emails. Trust Insights identifies possible manipulation attempts by analyzing unusual changes in how users interact with their devices. Apple stated that the feature operates entirely on-device and does not view the content of calls, messages, or emails. Data used for analysis is deleted immediately after the evaluation is complete. When a high risk is detected, compatible applications may trigger warnings before payments, implement short waiting periods, or require additional verification steps. Users can disable the feature in the settings menu. However, Apple will implement a short waiting period before the feature is deactivated to prevent scammers from forcing victims to turn off the protection.
