Zain Iraq named official sponsor of third Iraq telecoms summit in Baghdad

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Zain Iraq served as the official sponsor of the third Iraq Telecommunication Summit, held at the World Heart Hotel in Baghdad under the auspices of the Iraqi Ministry of Communications and the Media and Communications Commission, the company said. Government officials, telecoms and technology sector representatives and regional experts attended the summit, which focused on advancing digital transformation, digital infrastructure and smart government applications. Sessions also covered the development of digital public services, technological innovation, modernization of telecoms infrastructure and public-private partnerships. Zain Iraq Chief Executive Officer Emre Gürkan said the summit provided an important platform for dialogue between the public and private sectors, and that the Ministry of Communications and the Media and Communications Commission were shaping the future of the industry. The company said it would continue investing in strengthening its networks, expanding digital infrastructure and adopting artificial intelligence solutions as part of its support for digital transformation in Iraq.
