US-Iran deal to follow 'action for result' principle, Reuters reports

WASHINGTON, United States — A deal between the United States and Iran will be structured around an "action for result" principle, with commitments tied to concrete steps rather than pledges, Reuters reported, citing a senior US administration official. The agreement envisages the full dismantlement of Iran's nuclear program, the destruction of nuclear materials and their removal from the country, the official said. According to the same source, no payments will be transferred to Tehran before all the measures are implemented. The deal also includes the opening of the strategic Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf to international shipping traffic and a halt to Iranian financing for groups Washington designates as "terrorist," the official added.
