U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said Friday that its blockade of Iranian ports is continuing at full strength. The command said maritime pressure operations against Iran remain active across sea lanes in the region.
According to the statement, naval forces have been deployed to restrict vessel traffic into and out of Iranian ports, with sea patrols continuing in coordination with allied forces in the area. CENTCOM officials said disrupting logistics flows to Iran is a priority objective of the blockade.
The command added that operational capacity is being maintained at sustainable levels and that maritime traffic is being closely monitored. CENTCOM said the operation is being carried out within the framework of international law.
