BAQUBA, Iraq โ Security sources reported two separate suicide incidents in Iraq's Diyala and Nineveh provinces. In Diyala, a fifth-grade high school student took his own life at his family home in a village in the Dรขrรผsselรขm subdistrict of Baquba, north of the province. Initial findings indicated the death resulted from psychological pressure and family-related issues.
The student's body was transferred to the forensic medicine unit, and authorities opened an investigation to determine the full circumstances of the incident.
Separately in Mosul, the capital of Nineveh province, a 46-year-old man attempted to end his life by jumping from the Third Bridge over the Tigris River. The river police reached the scene quickly and managed to pull the man from the water alive.
The survivor was handed over to medical teams, and security forces launched a broader investigation into the circumstances of the incident. No further details were immediately available.
