U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday that the United States holds a stockpile of medium- and high-caliber ammunition far larger than what would be needed in any current or future war, accusing those who refuse to report accurately on American military operations in Iran of being "traitors." In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said U.S. munitions production is continuing at what he described as unprecedented levels, and that stockpiling was being carried out to prepare for any emergency. He added that the ammunition is being reserved for the United States, while sales to allies would soon resume. Trump also claimed that the Biden administration had provided Ukraine with more ammunition free of charge than what was used in the Iran operation, and that hundreds of billions of dollars had been transferred to Ukraine and NATO โ€” funds he said would be sought back from Europe.
