Three killed in separate incidents across Dhi Qar province

NASIRIYAH, Iraq — A police source in Dhi Qar province said three people died in separate incidents on Sunday evening, including two young men and a 14-year-old boy. In the first case, a 24-year-old man died by hanging using an electrical cable in the Suq al-Shuyukh district in southern Dhi Qar. The source said the suicide was attributed to psychological problems. Separately, a man in his 30s drowned in the Wafa River within the boundaries of the Gharraf district in northern Dhi Qar, according to the source. River police continued efforts to recover the body. In the third incident, a 14-year-old boy was killed when his bicycle collided with a vehicle in the Ghurayyis area of Jubayyish district at the southern tip of the province. Police detained the driver and opened an investigation.
