BAGHDAD, Iraq — Security forces in the Kurdistan Region’s Kermian Administration and Iraq’s Babylon province carried out separate operations targeting drug possession and motor theft, arresting a total of 12 suspects, officials said.
In the Korti subdistrict of Kermian’s eastern Kakul village, security units detained three brothers on charges of drug possession. Police spokesman Colonel Soran Muhammad Garib said officers seized 19.5 grams of drugs from the suspects’ vehicle and handed them over to the Kermian Asayish Directorate for further action.
Separately, Babylon Provincial Police said a nine-member gang accused of motorcycle theft was dismantled in the Mudeithiya subdistrict of Hamza al-Gharbi district. A Kalashnikov rifle was recovered from the suspects during the operation.
