BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Baghdad Operations Command said three suspects were caught preparing a tribal armed raid on a residential home in the capital's eastern neighborhood of Boutil, foiling the attack before it could be carried out. The command said the operation was carried out based on information received through tip lines and citizen cooperation.
Emergency police patrol units cordoned off the area in coordination with security forces stationed in the district after receiving the initial report. The three suspects, identified as preparing an armed raid known locally as "deke aลairiye," were apprehended in the act, according to the statement.
Weapons were recovered from the suspects, who were handed over to the relevant authorities for legal proceedings. Baghdad Operations Command said it would continue to pursue individuals engaged in illegal activity and those who resort to violence in tribal disputes, and that such operations are aimed at maintaining security and stability in residential areas.
