DUHOK, Iraq — Duhok, Iraq — Security forces in the Kurdistan Region's Duhok province detained 10 people for allegedly using toxic substances to fish in the Khabur River near Bakirman village in the Akre district north of the city, a security source said. According to the source, the Forest and Environment Police received information that a group of fishermen was using poison to catch fish and dispatched forces to the area, where the suspects were caught in the act. The detainees, identified as residents of Bardarash and Duhok, were said to have been operating together as a group.
