BAGHDAD, Iraq โ€” Talaba Sports Club, based in Baghdad, said its domestic and international transfer ban has been lifted in time for the new Iraqi Premier League season. Club officials said the conditions that had triggered the restriction no longer applied, clearing the way for player registrations and squad planning. The ban stemmed from a financial dispute with former head coach Talal al-Baloushi, who filed a claim with FIFA over unpaid dues. The Iraqi Football Association had also declined to issue licenses to Talaba, Diyala and Jwlan, complicating the club's preparations. Club officials said resolving the matter would allow Talaba to continue its sporting activities and take part in upcoming competitions. They added that the lifting of the ban would help the team strengthen its squad and maintain administrative stability. The club did not provide further details on the settlement with al-Baloushi or upcoming transfer activity.
