BASRA, Iraq โ Ukrainian emergency services said Russian strikes on Kyiv and the surrounding area overnight killed at least 15 people and injured dozens. The State Emergency Service said on Telegram that 14 people were killed and 27 wounded in the attack on the capital's outskirts. Earlier, Kyiv's military administration said one woman had been killed and 12 others injured in a missile strike carried out during the night hours.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said two people had been pulled from the rubble of a warehouse that collapsed in the attack, while rescue operations continued over concerns that others remained trapped. Klitschko said damage and fires had been reported at multiple locations across the city and that air defense systems had responded to the assault.
No further details on the extent of the damage or the number of casualties were immediately available from Ukrainian authorities.
