Russia warns UK military facilities could be targeted over Ukraine support

Russia has renewed a sharp warning to the United Kingdom, with Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova saying Moscow's possible retaliation could cover "all British military facilities and equipment" inside and outside Ukraine. Speaking at the weekly press briefing, Zakharova said those involved in war crimes against Russian civilians would receive "the punishment they deserve," and urged British citizens to understand the heavy consequences of their government's policies. Zakharova cautioned that London's continued military support for Ukraine could drag the country into a direct confrontation with Russia. She said Britain had not only supplied Storm Shadow cruise missiles to Kyiv but also transferred the technological data needed to assemble them, describing this as "a serious escalation." The spokeswoman also cited a Le Figaro report based on information from Safran, saying the company had for more than a year been providing guidance and cruise systems for the Flamingo cruise missile, a joint Ukrainian-British project, for use against Russia.
