PSG sign French left-back Digne from Aston Villa on three-year deal

PARIS, France — Paris Saint-Germain have signed French left-back Lucas Digne from Premier League club Aston Villa, the French champions announced. The 30-year-old defender has agreed a three-year contract with PSG. Digne began his senior career at Lille before moving to Paris Saint-Germain, then to Roma on loan and later to Everton, where he spent four seasons in the Premier League. He joined Aston Villa in 2022 and featured regularly for the Midlands club across the past three campaigns. The full-back arrives as an additional option on the left side of PSG's defense, with the club continuing to strengthen its back line ahead of the new season. PSG did not release further financial details of the transfer. Digne has previously won domestic titles in France and England and brings European experience to Luis Enrique's squad as the Paris side prepares for another Ligue 1 campaign and Champions League commitments.
