Popular Mobilization chief appoints Akayli as Operations Directorate advisor

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Falih al-Fayyadh, head of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), issued an administrative order on Thursday appointing Ali Abdullah al-Akayli as an advisor to the Operations Directorate, according to an official PMF statement. Under the order, Akayli will also advise on the separation and reorganization of the 313th, 314th and 315th regiments under the Samarra Operations Command. The restructuring, part of broader efforts to reorganize the PMF's field structure, involves severing the existing links of the three regiments and rebuilding them under a new framework. The decree is part of administrative measures aimed at improving the effectiveness of field operations and accelerating structural reforms, the PMF statement said. The appointment is being treated as a routine administrative step within the PMF command's regular processes.
