One killed, two injured in armed dispute in Iraq's Nineveh

MOSUL, Iraq — One person was killed and two others were wounded when a dispute in the Kifah neighborhood of Telefar district in Nineveh province escalated into an armed clash, security sources said. The sources said firearms, including rifles, were used in the fighting and that security forces quickly cordoned off the area after arriving at the scene. Police patrol teams detained two people connected to the incident and took them to a security center for questioning, according to the sources. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the dispute and the surrounding circumstances. The body of the deceased was transferred to the forensic medicine department, while the injured were taken to Telefar State Hospital for treatment, the sources added. Telefar is located west of Mosul.
