BAGHDAD, Iraq โ The Islamic Resistance Movement Nujaba said on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, that its position on keeping its weapons has not changed. In a statement issued in Baghdad, the movement said the weapon it described as a โdisciplined sacred weaponโ exists to defend Iraq, holy sites and the public.
The group said its stance on the issue is fixed and will not change. It added that this approach had already been stated earlier.
Nujaba also said the same position was included in a post by its secretary general, Akram al-Kaabi, dated May 26, 2026. The statement was a brief reaffirmation of its current position on the weapons issue.
The movement said the use of the weapon is limited to defense.
